You can be there. You can experience the thrill of walking 100 feet above ground on a guided canopy tour, eye-level with the monkeys in the treetops. Stroll ashore on a deserted beach for picnics and hermit crab races. Wade into crystal clear pools of water fed by waterfalls flowing from the rainforests' mountaintops. Swim and snorkel amongst the hundreds of tropical fish, and if you’re lucky, share the water with curious dolphins. Watch those same dolphins play in the wake of your own private yacht as she makes her way to your next destination. Look up as the skies above you fill with harpy eagles, bold-colored toucans or hundreds of species of butterflies whether you’re at sail or exploring the jungles.
You begin your adventure by arriving at the hotel and immediately becoming acclimated to the laid back atmosphere of the tropics on your first evening. The next morning, you will attend a private meet and greet breakfast with a member of the crew, prepared exclusively for Boat Company guests. Here you all may get acquainted before your two-hour guided bus tour down to the coast, where you will board the M/V MIST COVE for your tropical expedition.
Throughout your journey, you will explore tropical rainforests with professional guides ready to answer any and all of your questions. Keep an eye out for the white ibis, brown booby or the ever-elusive scarlet macaw. If your heart is set on seeing primates in their natural habitat, you will venture through several national parks, including Manuel Antonio and Corcovado National Parks, as well as the spectacular Rainmaker Mountain Project - a nonprofit preserve where The Boat Company has arranged your very own private guided tour. Howler monkeys will seemingly scream at you as you pass under them. White-faced capuchins will curiously follow you and then suddenly scamper and hide the minute your camera comes out – their own game of hide and seek. The number of animals you may see on your trip is limitless as your travels take you through a region of the world with one of the largest concentrations of flora and fauna.
At the end of the day, enjoy cocktails and informative conversations with naturalists and other experts from the crew. Then feast on a delicately prepared gourmet meal, featuring fresh fruits and vegetables bought at the local markets for your enjoyment. After your meal, move out onto the deck and enjoy a beautiful sunset, read a great book or retire to the comfort of a private stateroom.
This is just an impressionistic sketch of a typical voyage aboard the M/V MIST COVE. Sixteen times a year, this superb vessel cruises the waters of Costa Rica and Panama with no more than 24 guests aboard.
The experience aboard the M/V MIST COVE is an educational one. It is the goal of The Boat Company to introduce guests to the tropical beauty of this natural habitat. On any given day, you will have the opportunity to comb the beautiful beaches; canoe and kayak the warm tropical waters; swim and snorkel the radiant coral reefs; try your luck at fishing for wahoo, mahi mahi, tuna and snook; or just sit on deck and relax as you take in the astounding sights around you. You can do as much or as little as you like, but there is no question that you will have had the experience of a lifetime.
The Boat Company caters to everyone: individuals, couples, and families traveling together. There is a maximum of 24 passengers allowed on any one vessel for fear of loosing the sense of intimacy and a shared experience that so many passengers appreciate and enjoy.
