Raiatea

Raiatea is the largest of the Leeward Islands and the second largest island in French Polynesia. Raiatea is located 120 miles north-west of Tahiti and has no beaches, however, there are many charming motus encircling the island where you will find stunning white sandy beaches and turquoise hued lagoons.

Raiatea has many fine yacht harbors and is known as the sailing center of French Polynesia. Referred to as the most sacred of the islands, Raiatea was the first island inhabited by the Polynesians and it is home to Marae Taputaputatea, the most important marae in French Polynesia.
