Yucatan

Cancun is Mexico's most popular tourist Mecca with fabulous beachside hotels and resorts, exciting nightlife and miles of sugar white sand beaches surrounded by the crystalline emerald waters of the Caribbean Sea.

The Yucatan's Caribbean coast boasts the world's second longest barrier reef, the Palancar Reef. The reef begins at Cancun and stretches all the way down to South America.

Isla Mujeres, which is located just five miles offshore from Cancun, offers a bohemian alternative from Cancun.

Cozumel, located just 12 miles off the tip of the Yucatan Pennisula has earned a reputation as one of the top five dive/snorkeling destinations on the planet. Visitors can explore an incredible variety of dives along the famous Palancar Reef; undersea adventures through caverns, shallow dives teeming with marine life, or deeper dives into undersea coral ravines and walls.

South of Cancun the Riviera Maya has charming sleepy fishing villages, such as Puerto Morelos as well as fabulous resorts in Playa del Carmen. There are scores of remote coves and deserted beaches the farther south you venture along the Yucatan peninsula. Yucatan is the center of the mysterious Mayan world. Mayan cities, temples and pyramids are scattered throughout the jungle and coastline.

Chichen-Itza is an archeological treasure, Tulum is simply gorgeous with its limestone temples set amidst a backdrop of emerald green seas. A trip to Yucatan would not be complete without a visit to the jungle. The jungles are home to jaguars, tapirs, crocodiles, hundreds of exotic birds and a large variety of butterflies.
