The west shore of the island is home to Kaanapali Beach, the first destination resort area that was developed on Maui. Here honeymooners, families and vacationers of all ages will delight in the varied resorts, multitude of restaurants, nightlife and shops that line the perfect half mile stretch of beach. The historic whaling town of Lahaina is the highlight of the West shore and is within easy access of the smaller less populated towns of Kahana, Napili and Kapalua.

The mist shrouded hills are an ideal climate for growing many of the tropical flowers that are sent all over the world. In Kula you will find Maui's only lavender farm, in the town of Ulupalakua is Tedeschi Winery - Maui's only winery. Haiku is the last upcountry town you will pass through before you come to the famed "Hana Highway." Further along this winding scenic shore is the remote town of Hana, where visitors will get to witness first hand the magnificence of a real rainforest. Complete with 56 bridges, the numerous waterfalls that magically greet you around just about every bend in the road, the beautiful black sand beaches dotted along the shoreline, as well as tropical gardens and historical sites - the drive to Hana is a true unadulterated adventure.
